The Red Pill or the Blue Pill?

Lately I've been hearing a lot of things because of pandemic. 

And the following sentence kept repeating in my head and somehow I couldn't get rid of it...... "Things will get better and best days are ahead of me..."

I guess one question remains - How far away am I, from the point in life where this sentence stops being true? 

Surely at some point we will reach the peak of our lives and face a downward slope from that point? But please don't get me wrong - this is certainly not a negative perspective, pretty neutral in fact. For those lucky ones, the downward slope would be so short and is barely noticeable. 

To address this question, I have created so many "What If" scenarios inside my head. 

What If? A hunch? 

- Fall of America, marking the end of an era of the greatest country. 

- A collapse of China's financial market, then a drastic change of the political environment, which lead to the fall of China. Democracy in China - now that's another topic in its own. 

- COVID19 - Will it stay for a long time and the world then adjust to the new way of living? Maybe there is opportunity to shape the world with a little bit more compassion. 

- Will the new way of living be more isolated or more open? Could it be a catalyst to reunite the world and in harmony?

- Technology advancement is shaping our lives differently on a daily basis. Maybe soon enough history could no longer be repeating itself. What it took 20 years to achieve may only take 5 years now, or even less. Eventually the changes can happen so rapidly that the "history" we once know may only live for a short period of time. 

- What worked before may no longer work now, that includes leadership, government strategy. Big changes are coming, perhaps inevitable too. The risk is that we are either be part of the change or be left behind...or perhaps what if we lead the change?? 

- Southern hemisphere has never been known as the largest stakeholders in the world. What goes around comes around...and then what comes around goes around. I wouldn't be surprised if somehow Aust/NZ becomes the greatest country and embarks a new chapter of the story. 

Speculations on speculations, my mind is running overdrive and the boundary is only limited by one's imagination. I found more questions than answers, like chasing the rabbit hole in wonderland.
