Stimulus Package...are you kidding me?

After several waves of unreasonablely dumb stimulus packages introduced in 2008/2009, there is finally light at the end of the tunnel as Bryan Pape launched a challenge in the Aussie High Court.

First of all, I have to admit that the stimulus packages are designed to stablise the Australian economy in essence but unfortunately, the way of delivering the packages are fundamentally flawed.
For instance, the controversial $900 bonus cash payment to tax payers. Should the High Court rule in favor of the government, there will be millions of dollars given away to those people who will be hardly beneficial to the current economy. I will be the one to witness how the criminals in jail, drug users buying more crystal etc will help the economy to recover.
On the other hand, thousands of the people who are in need of money will not get the bonus as they did not pay any tax in the last financial year. But how about those housewives who took care of their kids at home, who are on genuine disability, not earning enough to pay tax etc. Who are we to say that those people do not deserve the damn bonus? I have heard someone say "If you don't pay tax, you should not be entitled to the benefit"....I sincerely beg to differ, this is a gift in essence and should be granted to all who need it the most!
The government of course has their excuse to justify their actions. They claimed that there is no other better or viable way to distribute the money. But let's be honest and be real, the government should really consider the no income earners but then I'm sure they wouldn't even look into it because of the additional cost.
So here you go, the criminals get the bonus money for more crystal and the low/no income earners get nothing in assistance. Way to go...Australia!
Therefore, I will be supporting Bryan Pape's claim and hopefully the High Court will bring the government's act together once and for all... Stop printing those damn cheques! At least this way, I know the tax payer's money will be at least spent in other ways that could be beneficial to the country...eg infrustrature, education, health etc.
