Addiction

There are too many things that people can hook onto, like work, sex, drugs, money, travel or even love... While some of those are considered necessities in life, but at what point those needs become our addictions? Can life simply be lived with addiction free? Is there a way to make us devote less time into the stuff that we like? I believe there is nothing wrong to be addicted to something...But addition can often cloud our judgement and lead us to forget other important things in our life. Maybe if we can slow down our life a little bit, take a little time to think. We will be able to remember some of the important things which we unitentionally left behind in the past.

Recipe Of Disaster

As I'm not trying to be generalised in here, but given all the traffic accidents that I had in the past couple of years (Including the one for yesterday), they were all involved with young & immature, aggressive, rude and filthy rich asians. While I am no subtle driver on the road, I still give safety a higher up priority as much as possible. However, no matter how careful or conservative you are, other dumb drivers' actions are way beyond your control. A lot of accidents can actually be avoided with simply a little more courtesy on both drivers. (Eg, Giving way, forgiving for cutting off line, etc.) On the other hand, courtesy seems to be impossible to reach for those dumb ones on the road. Here are my analysis with my statement above: Young & immature: Being young has nothing to do with being immature, a person can be as young as 18 but already developed the understanding of being responsible etc. But for those who are young & immature, while they can be fun from...

Unique Or Generic?

Image
Life is considered to be unique from person to person as everyone has different experiences or cultural differences etc. Moreover, individualism and distinctive identity have become the trend of mankind. Whether is a night club opening for only a list of exclusive people or simply a bottle of cheap, tasteless wine with a gold label trying to standout at the bottom of the rack. But life in general, as unique as it seems, is flawed in this contradicting world. No matter what our beliefs are, there will always be people wearing judgmental eyes scanning for odds every moment, everywhere in the world (Even those who promote individualism). Certainly, because of this, we can expect some of the people will force themselves to hide in the blind spot, be ordinary and fit into the world. So, is life truly unique or just boring generic? Can we see the world clearly without the world leading us? Are we capable to be different in this world that is full of restrictions?

Optimistic or Pessimistic

Recently, I survived my own financial crisis while the world is still dealing with it. I found myself become a calmer person in general while other getting nastier because of their unfortunate personal circumstances. That leads me to think... "Are we behaving how we want ourselves to be or merely projecting an image from our current events?" Certainly, we can never predict what we will face next and hardly be able to avoid unfortunate happening. But when the unfortunate circumstance arrives our doorstep unexpectedly, how often can we still be able to act or behave the same way as before? For optimistic people, the dreadful events probably have lesser effect on them, as they carry a nature of being hopeful. On the other hand, pessimistic people are most likely to become infected with the disease of being unfortunate and project the image of changed behavior to others. I wonder if there is an antidote that can cure such infection or nothing can be done until the aftermath is o...
